During the first half of the 1900s,the Cacopardo familyopened the doors of their own house to coming travellers, transforming Villa Caterina into a welcoming inn. The beauty of the place and the warmth of the house fascinated guests from the very moment they arrived, so much so that many guests continue to return year after year. During the sixties, the Villa became a true hotel in its own right, managed as before by the Cacopardo family. As much today as yesterday, Villa Caterina is characterized by an unmistakable style, born of the harmony between cordiality, kindness and true Sicilian hospitality.The interior of the house reflects the family's passion for this wonderful land: chandeliers and bed headboards in wrought iron, products in Caltagirone ceramics, solid wood furniture in Arte Povera style, Rattan sofas and tables in the sun-drenched veranda. The Villa is surrounded by a most beautiful Mediterranean garden, where olive and citrus trees grow and where guests can enjoy their breakfast.

The rooms of Villa Caterina are all of a typical Sicilian charm, with beds in wrought iron, Caltagirone ceramics and wide windows overlooking the splendid Mediterranean garden which surrounds the hotel. The 11 twin or triple rooms are equipped with the best comforts a guest may need. Breakfast can be taken in the bedroom for no extra cost.

During the summer, guests can enjoy breakfast on the terrace, or even in the garden, sheltered in the shade of the olive trees and amidst the scent of the roses and lemons. Breakfast is served as a sweet and savory buffet, with home-made cakes and jams, a wide choice of different teas, and savory specialties such as ham, cheese and omelet’s.

By plane: the Catania "Fontanarossa" Airport is 60 km away from Taormina. To reach the hotel, you can book and pay for our transfer service in advance. You can also take the intercity bus, which will take you to Taormina in less than an hour. From there you can take the cable-car to Mazzarò. The hotel is just a few minutes away from the cable-car station.

By train: the Taormina/Giardini Naxos station is just 2 km from the hotel, which you can reach by private taxi.

By car: from the A18 Messina-Catania motorway, exit at Taormina and follow the direction for Taormina mare/Mazzarò (SS 114). The Villa Caterina Hotel is just 1.4 km from the motorway toll booth. If you come in your own car, you will have access to the hotel's private parking area.
