Hotel Santa Maria Roma

The Hotel Santa Maria is an Hotel de Charme located in a 16th century cloister completely renovated in the year 2000 maintaining the flavour of the original construction. It makes a very pleasant base in a romantic and relaxing ambience.

The hotel is located in an historical area of central Rome in the heart of one of the most ancient and characteristic neighbourhoods of the city, Trastevere.

A true oasis of tranquillity immersed in an intricate labyrinth of colourful and brigth narrow streets.

From the hotel, guests can easily walk to the historical and archaeological beauties of the city. It is also possible to drive to the hotel with parking available in the courtyard, or in a garage next to the entrance of the hotel.

The hotel has a one-floor plan with all rooms communicating on a monastic portico, and facing an ample and silent garden of orange-trees, flowers and Mediterranean plants, a perfect setting for enjoying breakfast in the warm and sunny roman days, or just for relaxing after a day of sightseeing.

All rooms are at ground level, built around a courtyard and portico, each illuminated by a window which looks out at the orange trees in the garden. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet, painted with sunny colors and floral motifs. Each room is furnished with simple, but elegant oak wood furniture. They have "cotto" tile floors, and all the modern amenities: air conditioning, mini bar, safe, satellite LCD television, telephone, and bathroom with bath or shower, plus hair-dryer.

When weather does not permit us to serve breakfast in the garden, an ancient artisan’s workshop has been transformed into an elegant dining room, and it will welcome you with freshly-baked croissants, cakes, cookies, bread, as well as scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, salami, cereal, yoghurts, and assorted honey, marmalade, fruit-juice and seasonal fresh fruit.

Wine Bar: choosing from our refined selection of Italian wines stocked in our Cellar (ranging from Vermentino di Gallura to Brunello di Montalcino ) guests can enjoy the pleasant relaxing atmosphere of the café-bar or the garden, an ideal spot for savouring a glass of excellent wine before venturing out to the picturesque and intimate alleys of Trastevere in search of a good “osteria” or one of the many fine restaurants of this most frequented dining area of old Rome.
