Hotel San Carlo Mestre
The San Carlo Hotel is a comfortable 2-star hotel near the motorway junctions. A few steps from the hotel, there is a bus stop to get the bus which will take you to Venice in few minutes.
The Hotel San Carlo has been recently refurbished and is located in the centre of Mestre. It is easy to reach either from the motorway, or the airport or the railway station. A few steps from the hotel, there is a bus stop where you can get the bus which will take you to Venice in about 5 minutes.
Rooms are comfortable and cosy, equipped with en suite bathroom, air conditioning , telephone and TV.
Buffet breakfast is served in the breakfast room.

By train: take Bus #9 - Get off at bus stop #1/5 of Via Forte Marghera.
By plane: take Bus ATVO - get off at the Bus Stop outside the Alitalia offices, in Via Forte Marghera
By car: from Milan - Bologna - Tarvisio - Trieste - Udine: after the toll booth, take the "Castellana" exit and follow directions to Mestre-Centro. Go straight down Via Fradelletto and Via A.Vespucci, turn right at the fifth traffic light and you will find yourself in Via Sansovino. Go straight on till you reach the crossroad, just before the bridge, and turn right into Via Forte Marghera.

Hotel San Carlo Very easy and close connection to the airport and to Venice. Tickets for the buses are available at the reception. The staff is very helpful and polite.

Hotel San Carlo Very helpful staff in reception. Very clean but bedroom very dated and too floral. Plain painted wall would be much better and better quality fabric on beds and curtains (not flowers - try stripes).

Hotel San Carlo The hotel is very convenient for bus service to Venice and well located to the shopping area of Merstre. Venice is very expensive so it make more sense to stay in Merstre and take the bus. In Venice the hotel rooms are 4 or more times more expensive. It is only a 15 minute bus ride to Venice and the hotel staff is very helpful in giving directions. The hotel rooms are small by American standards but the beds are comfortable.

Hotel San Carlo For a buget hotel the price was fair. However, the breakfast was very basic and it would be hard to call it continental. We were unlucky with our room as it was very small but from what we saw most of the rooms were a good size. Our bathroom was very small (to use the wc you had to stand in the shower.) It would also be nice to have tea/coffee making facilities as you can not buy a drink in the hotel.

Hotel San Carlo The hotel staff was very helpful with providing information for around the town of Mestre and of Venice also. They were very good with providing information on how to get to Venice by bus and they also had bus tickets to sell, which made it very convenient. The hotel and the rooms were really clean. I would go back to San Carlos again.

Hotel San Carlo We really liked this hotel, but something on the site should be changed. By mistake we left the train in Venice and tried to pick up the bus to Mestre. If you look at the site in how to get to the hotel you would think you should go first to Venice. For a turist that is travelling for the first time we didn't know we suppoused to stop in Mestre train station... I believe many other people made the same mistake..

Hotel San Carlo Camere molto piccole e grande difficoltà di movimento nel suo interno (in questo caso era una camera tripla...). Bagno anch'esso molto piccolo ma funzionale.
