Hotel La Vela - Castello Il Rifugio Santa Margherita Ligure

The Hotel La Vela is a little castle built at the end of 19th century on the quiet green area slightly on the hill at about ten minutes walk from the centre of Santa Margherita Ligure and only 4 km. from Portofino. Its wonderful sight-seeing is extended all over the Tigullio Gulf, from Sestri Levante to Portofino and through the Cinque Terre until La Spezia.

Santa Margherita Ligure is at about 30 Km. Eastwards from Genoa. Located in the centre of the "Tigullio Gulf" and at the bottom of the Portofino Mount, you can easily reach it with any kind of transportation.

PLANE: International Airport "Cristoforo Colombo" Genoa.
BOAT: Port of Genoa.
CAR: Highway A12, exit Rapallo or Recco.
TRAIN: Train station Santa Margherita Ligure Portofino (some trains only stop in Rapallo or Chiavari).

Once you reach Santa Margherita Ligure, you will easily find the Hotel La Vela. In the city centre, coming from Rapallo, follow the directions to San Lorenzo della Costa (also following the panels to Genova). About 500 meters further on the hill you will find us on your left side. Coming from Genoa (and /or taking the highway exit of Recco) on the National Street Via Aurelia (SS1) follow the panels to Santa Margherita Ligure. You will find us on your right side, just before reaching the centre.
