Hotel La Pensione Svizzera Taormina

"La Pensione Svizzera" is a perfect example of a small and charming hotel. It is in the Vinciguerra family since 1925. Located on Via Pirandello, one of the most beautiful panoramic roads of Taormina , it is within a short walking distance to the center (congress - hall and Greek theater), as well as to the cable - car and the busterminal. You enter through a small iron gate at road-level and find the entrance and the garden with the shadowy palmtrees a few steps below.

The team at the reception desk is extemely helpful. The whole atmosphere is familiar and peaceful. Buffet breakfast is served in the garden or the garden-pavillon.

The hotel offers parking or garage at request, front desk service 24 hours, bar, internet point and a shuttle-service to the private beach (May -October). We organize tennis and diving reservations, airport limousine transfers and individual excursions. We also do bookings for bus-excursions, hotels and restaurants and make reservations for rent-a-cars.

Probably one of the best "bed and breakfast" in town! 

There are 22 rooms, all with private shower (hair-dryer), windows with double-glasses, central-heating, telephone, sat television, safe and individually controlled air - condition. Nearly all of them have a view on the sea and a balcony.

Arriving by plane

If you arrive at the airport Catania (CTA) Fontana Rossa (about 70 kms from Taormina)

• we can organize the pick-up by taxi for € 64,00/one way if required (about 60 minutes).

• you can go by train from the main station of Catania to the station "Taormina-Giardini". To get to the main station you take the bus or hire a taxi (available at the airport for € 15,00. From the station "Taormina - Giardini" to the hotel either you go by bus (bus terminal) or by taxi (€ 11,00) which can be arranged by us.

• you reach Taormina by bus in 1 1/2 or 2 hours. The bus station is situated on the right side of the main building of the airport. From the bus terminal to the hotel "La Pensione Svizzera" you just walk about 200 ms (city direction).

If you arrive at the airport Palermo (PMO ) Punta Raisi (about 270 kms from Taormina).

• we can organize the pick-up by taxi for € 250,00/one way if required (about 3 1/2 hours)

• you reach Taormina by bus changing in Catania (the whole trip will last 4 or 5 hours). From the bus terminal in Taormina to the hotel "La Pensione Svizzera" you just walk about 200 ms (city direction).

• You can go by train to Catania or Messina and change there to reach the station "Taormina-Giardini" (about 3 or 4 hours). There you take the bus to Taormina bus terminal or a taxi (can be organized by us and costs € 11,00).

Arriving by train: From the station "Taormina-Giardini" we organize the pick-up by taxi for € 11,00/one way if required. Or you go to Taormina by bus. From the bus terminal to the hotel "La Pensione Svizzera" you just go 200 mt. (city direction).

Arriving by ship: Connections exist from Genova, Livorno and Napoli to Palermo. From Napoli you can also reach Catania. There are also ferry lines from Reggio Calabria and Villa San Giovanni to Messina (about 45 kms from Taormina). From Messina (40 km) we organize the pick-up by taxi for € 60,00/one way if required.
