Hotel L'ariana Salina

L' Ariana, fascinating villa of the beginning of the last century, is located upon a cliff above the sea of Rinella reflecting his silhouette in a bay in the south part of the island of Salina.

The hotel has kept a characteristic atmosphere of past time, keeping the thick walls and deep windows of the original building intact.

Set in the deep colours of the Mediterranean countryside, with an air bringing the scent of sea and brooms the hotel will welcome you with its simple but accurate comfort.

The rooms are welcoming and comfortable, all provided with bathroom, telephone and frigo-bar.

The restaurant offers the simplicity  of the genuine Sicilian specialities. The menus, always which vary thanks to the creativity of our chef, are mainly inspired by the ingredients that the nature offers, sea food and fish, fresh vegetables, capers, olive oil and all the fragrance of the most precious Mediterranean spices. You can taste our delicatessen sitting on a panoramic terrace, blending together flavours, scents and colours to create an unique experience.

During the summer months, for a quick refreshment on your way back from the sea, a buffet service is available  at the hotel bar, vibrant meeting point that we recommend also for your after dinner moments, where you can relax and enjoy music, tasting our special wine Malvasia (locally produced).

Salina, ancient Dydime, presents itself to its visitors with the unique view of twin volcanos, that facing each other smoothly descend into the valley of Valdichiesa. On the mountains top the colours change at every season, taking the yellow of the broom in springtime and each shade of red during autumn.  At the base, the green of the wine-yards cultivated with Malvasia, in autumn is mixed with the golden colours of mature grapes. Everywhere gardens, coloured and white houses, all the way until reaching the sea where the silvered black of the volcanic rocks merges with the crystal water, changing, rich of all the colours of the sky and abyss that transpares.

The island is ready to charme the tourist, perhaps there only for a seaside holiday, with its thousand faces: its geological formations, the history of its past so rich of events to reach mythology, its secrets paths that arrive all the way up to "Fossa Felci" (the ancient crater of the mountain) from which you can enjoy a stunning view of all the islands, its amazing sea bottoms, the unique flavours of the typical cuisine, the scent of aromatic herbs, where the capers (slow food) and the Malvasia, our sweet and dense wine, stand out proudly.
