Hotel Continental Génova

The Hotel Continental in Genoa, a superior 4-star establishment, is located in the old part of the city, near the Principe Station, the Aquarium of Genoa, the Children's City (la Città dei Bambini) and the Magazzini del Cotone Conference Centre. The hotel boasts a restaurant, a garage, a splendid view of the Port of Genoa and the famous Lanterna lighthouse. The hotel, which was completely renovated in 2002, is within walking distance of the city's main points of interest: the Palazzo Ducale, the Carlo Felice Theatre, the Universities, Palazzo Lauro and the Galata Sea Museum. The hotel's cosy hall offers an Internet Point with printer and photocopier, a reading area with a rich selection of books, daily newspapers and magazines. In addition, a refreshment corner is provided for guests free of charge where all day long they can enjoy coffee, herbal tea, amari (bitter liqueurs), fruit juices, cocktails and snacks.

The Continental Hotel has 44 rooms, all with a view of Principe Station and the Port of Genoa. The floors are in light-coloured parquet, furnishings are in precious wood, and all fabrics hark back to the typical shapes and colours of Italian Liberty style. A recent architectural renewal project has brought the original recesses of the window bays and the antique stuccoes in plaster back to the light of day. Some of the rooms feature characteristic “bow windows” with three panes that overlook one of the most famous squares of Genoa. The rooms are fitted with every comfort: independent air conditioning, three telephone lines, satellite TV, internet access, wireless technology throughout the whole hotel, tea and coffee makers, safe and minibar.

Rounding off the choice are the large Executive Rooms, all featuring jacuzzis and a large apartment with kitchen.

The restaurant's menu offers a choice of traditional local dishes and typical Mediterranean cuisine.

The restaurant's kitchen offers delicious specialities including pesto alla genovese, stockfish alla genovese and fish fresh from the market.

The Continental Hotel's restaurant is also open to the general public.

BY CAR: Leave the motorway at the Genova Ovest (Genoa West) exit, and for the city centre (centro città). Follow signs for Stazione Principe (around 2 km). You will find the hotel opposite the station.
